Bonde do Rolê - Baby Don’t Deny It (feat. Caetano Veloso and Poolside)
Bonde do Rolê’s latest release Tropical/Bacanal is a perfect summer treat. The distinctive Baile Funk blend of electronic and traditional Brazilian dance musics is pretty much unparalleled in fun factor, and the range of styles on the album is fantastic - on other tracks Das Racist’s Kool A.D. and grime MC Rizzle Kicks can be heard, but my personal favourite is this track, with Caetano Veloso’s voice (for the unaware, he’s maybe comparable to Bob Dylan or the like in terms of influence and legacy in Brazilian music) as beautiful as ever at nearly 70 years.
